This is a course for beginning and intermediate level writers who are interested in making work for TV, Film or Theatre that focuses on the core building block of dramatic writing: dialogue.
Award-winning writer Tom Hunsinger will lead the group through a series of exercises designed to hone your ear, and translate that skill to the page.
During the course, you will write from yourself and away from yourself using structured exercises that engage your ear and imagination. Each week you will produce a two-page scene to be read out in class.
One of the weeks will involve a mock writer’s room, giving preparation for those interested in working collaboratively, as in TV.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: As a screenwriter, Tom Hunsinger won a British Independent Film Award and an Evening Standard Award for Best Screenplay for LAWLESS HEART (starring Bill Nighy,Tom Hollander and Dougie Hensall) and was nominated for an Evening Standard Award for Best Screenplay for SPARKLE (starting Bob Hoskins, Lesley Manville, Stockard Channing, and Tony Head).
