The Directors Cut is open to writer applications for ‘The Secret Life of Sally’, the Directors Club Showcase happening at Southwark Playhouse on Sunday 25th September 2016.
What to submit: They are looking for writers to create 5-10 minute monologues or duologues around a character named ‘Sally’ – please be sure to read the full brief on their website for a full description of the character and for complete details.
In their own words: “We are looking for writers to invent interesting and engaging characters that have encountered Sally and describe their encounters or relationships with her. We want the encounters/relationships that they have shared to reveal a side to her which is somewhat…different…to the way most would describe her, as detailed below. The characters should all have shared, experienced or been witness to a secret with/about Sally. We want to know the brutal, juicy, honest truth. And don’t worry…your secret is safe with us.”
How to apply: Please ensure you send your submission as a PDF with the title of your piece and name of the writer in the title of the email. Submit to: scripts@directorscuttheatre.co.uk
Deadline: Wednesday 31 August 2016 at midnight
