Duologues sought for Octagon theatre’s 50th anniversary

The Octagon Theatre, Bolton, is launching the second year of its national prize, encouraging new and original writing for the stage.

In celebration of the Octagon producing one of the most famous duologues in the theatrical canon Jim Cartwright’s TWO, entrants this year are invited to submit duologues of any theme or genre.

The winning submissions will be performed in the Octagon Studio by professional actors during the theatre’s 50th anniversary season.

What to submit: Plays should be between 7,500 and 15,000 words long and must an original, unperformed and unproduced piece of work. Entrants over 16 with any level of experience are eligible to submit their work.

How to enter:  All entries must be anonymous and submitted by email to literary@octagonbolton.co.uk or by post, to Octagon Theatre, Howell Croft South, Bolton, BL1 1SB

The entry has to be in a single document in PDF, DOC or DOCX with title only. Your real name must not be on the document anywhere. Scripts to be submitted by email by the writer themselves and not by a third party. A ‘Confirmation of Receipt’ email will be sent to all entrants. No correspondence will be entered into but there will be feedback to the top, 15 shortlisted entries.
