En Route Theatre Company is looking for submissions for VOYAGES, a new writing festival taking place at the White Bear Theatre, Kennington, from 25–28 August 2026.
VOYAGES is seeking original plays exploring journeys of all kinds. “Voyages” may be interpreted freely and is intended as an invitation rather than a limitation.
En Route is particularly interested in supporting international theatre makers based in London, while remaining open to all writers and perspectives.
Writers who are not London-based MUST have a reliable London-based contact who can coordinate rehearsals and related arrangements on their behalf.
Festival structure

25 August: Up to six short plays (maximum 20 minutes each)

26 August: Up to two full-length plays (maximum 1 hour each)

27 August: Up to four mid-length plays (maximum 40 minutes each)

28 August: Up to six short plays (maximum 20 minutes each)
Please note that the White Bear Theatre is a fringe venue, meaning technical resources (lighting, sound, set and props) are limited. The company encourages writers to keep this in mind when submitting their work.
Writers may submit finished plays or works-in-progress.
En Route may be able to help connect selected writers with actors and directors, though availability cannot be guaranteed. Selected writers will serve as the group leader and primary point of contact between En Route’s team and their assigned cast and director. Once teams have been confirmed, writers will be responsible for coordinating communication, leading their group, and organising rehearsals ahead of the festival.
