Free tickets are available for WMC Writers, Friday 13th March at Southwark Playhouse, London. 6:30-9pm. Open to womxn & non-binary artists only. If you’re looking for a supportive environment to share your writing, or a fun space to read new writing or just want to meet other fab artists, WMC Writers takes place every month and has spaces for writer-observers, directors, actors, playwrights and other creatives.
It doesn’t matter what stage you’re at, if you’re interested in new writing, and how it works, you’ll be very welcome. If you’ve not been before, this is how it works:
1. Five writers bring 10 minutes each of new work to share.
2. Actors are cast from those attending on the night.
3. The pieces are read in turn and then The Thelmas facilitate peer-to-peer constructive, structured feedback using a tried and tested format they designed. This aims to make feedback work better to empower the writers to improve their writing themselves without being dictated to.
4. They share any parish notices and then have a drink, chat, mingle and have some fun!
