Papatango launched GoWrite, a brand new arm for participation and engagement, in June 2017. GoWrite will deliver an ambitious year-round programme of in-depth playwriting workshops and education opportunities for over four thousand people each year – all completely free.
Every part of GoWrite is directly inspired by their professional opportunities. Participants will be empowered to write their own plays and continue their playwriting journeys with Papatango long into the future.
There will be various opportunities to participate in GoWrite in 2018:
Workshops in state schools are modelled on the Papatango New Writing Prize; students’ plays are published and performed by professional actors. Read more here.
Adult workshops are led by Papatango discoveries and artists, are available online, and include bursaries to cover travel costs for those attending in person. Read more here.
A fortnightly online career facilitation service run by the Papatango team will answer all your questions about Papatango, playwriting, or theatre in general. Access it here between 10am – 12pm on alternate Thursdays (next date: 15 March).
Playwriting courses are run for local communities at Luton Hat Factory and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, each culminating in a rehearsed reading, free to local audiences. Read more here.
GoWrite is delivered with partners including Shakespeare Schools Festival, Ovalhouse, Performers Theatre School Liverpool, and the House touring network.
