Galley Beggar Press short story prize 2017/18 (£10 entry fee)

Not strictly a playwriting opportunity but this one might be of interest to those of you who enjoy writing short stories…

Galley Beggar Press return with their annual short story prize and are looking for writers of all backgrounds to send in their work.

They are looking for short stories that are no longer than 6000 words, and the theme is completely open.

What you get:

  • 1st Prize: £1000 or 12 months of editorial support from the directors of Galley Beggar Press.
  • Shortlist: £150 to each shortlisted author.
  • Longlist: £50 of book tokens to each longlisted author, plus a 4-book subscription to Galley Beggar Press.
