Greenwich & Lewisham Young Writers Collective: Writing For Change (free course, 16-25 year olds)

GLYPT Young Writers Collective: Writing For Change

A free 10-week creative writing course for 16 to 25 year olds – part of GLYPT’s Progressionprogramme.

We’re looking for young people with a strong interest in creating an original piece of writing. This could include poetry, plays, lyrics, lists, short stories… – there are no limitations and the project is all about finding your own unique voice and writing style!

You will work each week with professional playwright, Somalia Seaton, who will guide you through the process of creating original work – from your initial ideas, through development, editing and final presentation. You will also work with four guest writers from very different areas – screenwriting, spoken word, theatre and novels – with one of these professionals providing one-on-one mentoring for your project.

At the end of the 10 weeks your work will be showcased at a public event at The Tramshed in Woolwich. This will be in collaboration with directors, artists and young performers from GLYPT’s Progression programme.
