How to Begin Playwriting course at the National Theatre

How to Begin Playwriting is a A ten week course which will give an insight into approaches to beginning playwriting. This course will focus on techniques, exercises and approaches to writing, with opportunities for discussion and shared group critiques. Led by Suhayla El-Bushra, who was writer in residence at the National Theatre Studio from April 2015 to August 2016. Her adaptation of Nikolai Erdman’s The Suicide appeared on the Lyttelton stage in 2016. The Course is led by Suhayla El-Bushra.

Dates: Tuesdays 16 Jan – 27 March (not 13 Feb), 6.30–8.30pm

Location: Clore Learning Centre, National Theatre

Cost: £500/£350 (concessions) Concession prices are reserved for Senior Citizens and Students. Bursaries are available for this course; they are likely to cover between 10% and 25% of the total course cost and are assessed on a case by case basis.
