Intensive Workshop: Mastering Microstructure

What makes a scene? How can a scene be broken down in to its’ microstructure? And how can mapping out the scenes of your play help you in the writing process?

In this 2 hour intensive workshop with playwright, Kimberley Andrews, you will work together as a group to break down scenes in to their own microstructure: you will consider how this mirrors the traditional act structure and delve in to the significance of action, change and conflict within scenes. You will also have the opportunity to map out a scene from your own play and share it with the group for feedback.

Who is this for? This workshop is suitable for both completely new or emerging writers. However, to ensure you get the most out of the session, it is recommended that you have an idea for a play in mind or are currently working on a play.

Requirements: No experience is necessary. In preparation for the class, it would be useful for you  to have in a mind an idea for a scene  from your play that you would like to work on.
