Literary Coordinator, The Royal Court Theatre (paid, full-time)

The Royal Court is the home of the English Stage Company Limited (ESC) and is the UK’s leading theatre dedicated to new writing. Up to 20 plays a year are staged between two theatre spaces (the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs and the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs) at the Royal Court’s home on Sloane Square. Over 120,000 people visit the Royal Court every year and many more see our work offsite, online, in the West End, globally and on tour. Our unique sector-leading activity is the play development work which takes place year-round including an ongoing programme of Writers Groups for around 100 writers a year.

 

Job Title: Literary Coordinator 

The Literary Coordinator is a key role in the Literary Team and will work closely with the Literary Associate and Literary Manager to nurture writers at every stage of their career. You will support the team in delivering key areas of work including script submissions, writers’ groups and other writer development opportunities such as attachments and workshops. We are looking for someone who has not had previous experience working in a literary department but who has a deep interest in new writing; a curiosity about the stories around them; and a commitment to questioning, disrupting and reconstructing ideas about how stories are told.
