A Year-Long Professional Development Programme for Playwrights
Have you considered a playwriting MA but found the cost, location, or time commitment out of reach? After months of research and planning, we’ve created a practical alternative, and we’re excited to share it with you.
The Advanced Playwriting Programme is an intensive twelve-month programme designed for playwrights who are serious about developing their craft, creating ambitious new work, and taking the next step in their creative journey.
Through weekly live sessions on Zoom, individual mentoring, detailed feedback, professional actor readings, and industry guest speakers, you will receive the support, accountability, and guidance needed to develop both your writing and your professional practice.
After learning together in Term 1, writers will have the choice to take an optional Screenwriting pathway in the second term.
By the end of the programme, you will have:
- A polished full-length play
- A completed short play suitable for submission opportunities and a professionally developed monologue OR A feature length first draft of a screenplay [depending on whether you choose the optional screenwriting pathway].
- A pitching and submission portfolio
- A deeper understanding of the theatre industry
- A sustainable creative practice to support your future writing
The course is led by Kimberley Andrews & Max Wilkinson
