To celebrate the London Playwrights Festival 2021, we’re bringing you a series of online workshops! Session are FREE but if you’d like to support the festival, there is an option to ‘pay what you can’ for your ticket!
LGBTQ+ Theatre
Want to check terminology, approaches and know where to submit your work? or are you interested in the history of LGBTQ+ theatre in order to inform your writing?
This workshop will do both. Giving you an overview of previous LGBTQ key works, current debates around LGBTQ writing and advice on where to focus your storytelling. We will also cover terminology, approaches to LGBTQ+ characters and relationships and guide you on inclusive theatre companies/organisations to submit your work.’
Led by Emily Garside, an academic who specialises in LGBTQ+ theatre, and member of the LGBTQ+ community.
Please note: this workshop will be recorded and included as part of our Festival On Demand programme which will be available to watch from the week following the festival.
