‘Lost Souls Monologues’ is a brand new podcast. This ground-breaking series features new works from British, Irish, Australian and American writers. Drawn from more than six hundred submissions from around the globe, the thirty monologues reflect something of the richness of the human experience – and how we all try to find our way.
“The characters are all a little lost,” says Producer, Matt Gibbs. “These stories may make us laugh or smile, but all speak to ideas of uncertainty and the importance of human contact. From the tube-riding widower who longs for another person’s touch, to the Brooklyn lady getting her hair done for nobody, to the elderly fisherman waiting for his first, mad love.”
While conceived before the pandemic, the theme clearly has resonance for our times. “We hope these monologues will show that feeling lost can sometimes bring us together and reveal paths that were previously unknown to us” says Creative Producer, Caitlin Ince.
Recorded under lockdown conditions, each episode is a stand-alone monologue featuring outstanding performances from an impressive cast, including Maggie Wheeler (‘Friends’, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’), Tamla Kari (‘The Inbetweeners Movie’, ‘The Musketeers’) and voiceover superstar Rupert Degas (‘Red Dwarf X’, ‘Pope Joan’).
‘Lost Souls Monologues’ is hosted by Buzzsprout and will be available on most podcast platforms, including iTunes, Spotify,Stitcher, Google Podcasts and Amazon Music, every Monday and Friday mornings, starting from Monday 9 November.
