LPW Online Workshops: Action! Embedding Action Within Your Scripts

How do you write scripts that are actable? How can you propel scenes forward line by line? How do you create heat and fizz in a scene? Alongside director, Julian Bruton, you will practically explore widely used rehearsal techniques that you can immediately apply to your scriptwriting – using an existing script to inspire us as well as writing our own. A workshop in 2 parts – practical, accessible, applicable, and interactive!

Julian is theatre director with a long and continuously held passion, commitment, experience, and knowledge in new writing. A Drama and Theatre Practice graduate from Hull University, he has directed in venues including Theatre Royal Haymarket, Theatre503, Southwark Playhouse, The Old Red Lion, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Camden People’s Theatre. He has led workshops for ALRA, Assemble Fest, The Director’s Cut Theatre Company & Cambridge Regional College. Julian has also been selected to direct for The 24 Hour Plays UK.
