In this brand new one-off 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn some tips, techniques and tricks of the trade when it comes to setting up your theatre company. From where to find funding, to marketing yourself to taking your play to the fringe, to even finding that pesky name, we’ll be covering all of your burning questions. Through practical exercises, group discussion and feedback, you’ll be equipped with an arsenal of knowledge which will help propel you into arts company start-up with confidence moving forward.
This course is run by our Literary Projects Manager Georgie Bailey. Georgie is a Poet, Playwright and Producer, and has produced a plethora of projects with his award-winning multi-arts company ChewBoy Productions. Currently, he is on attachment to the Oxford Playhouse Playmaker scheme as well as the Playwright’s Hive programme with Broken Silence Theatre and has a variety of projects, productions and his own writing in development with venues such as the Minack Theatre. He is a 2020 graduate of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School’s MA Dramatic Writing as well as an alumnus of Soho Theatre, HighTide Theatre and Papatango’s respective Writer development schemes. He has worked for a variety of organisations in workshop facilitation, project management, dramaturgy and marketing such as Chichester Festival Theatre, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre and Salamander Street Publishing.
