New Views Playwriting Programme at the National Theatre (for 15-19 year olds)

New Views is the National Theatre’s Playwriting Programme for 15-19 year olds.

Each year, hundreds of students from across the UK learn about playwriting from some of the finest writers in the business and writer their own short pays, with one winning play chosen to be staged at the NT with a professional cast, and staged readings for another 9 shortlisted plays.

The NT has a New Views London Hub for individual students looking to learn and develop their writing talents in weekly sessions with professional director Audrey Sheffield, and professional playwright Brian Mullin.  Participation in the London Hub is free, and the group meets every Monday at 6pm at the national Theatre from late October onwards.  Each week, the session focuses on a different part of creating a script, generating ideas and developing your voice as a writer through exercises, discussions and feedback.

How to apply:  If you are interested in the programme, please email Liz Bate to register your interest: lbate@nationaltheatre.org.uk or you can call to speak to Liz on: 020 7452 3692.
