Off The Page: bi-monthly script readings at The Bridge House Theatre, Penge

Off The Page: bi-monthly script readings at The Bridge House Theatre, Penge.

Off The Page was launched in January 2023 as a way of championing established and emerging writers, by giving them the opportunity to hear their pieces read by professional actors. The readings are followed by a Q&A with the audience and the questions can be specified by the writer to ensure that the feedback is bespoke to their piece.
The evenings are priced on a ‘pay what you feel’ basis so that people can come along whatever their financial situation. Any money we make on the night we split equally between the theatre, actors and writer. To date, we’ve been able to give all the creatives something for their time.
Our writers so far have included: a recent creative writing graduate, an award-winning author and a playwright who’s gone on to be commissioned to write for Hampstead Theatre.

Writers can submit their work to otp@thebridgehousetheatre.co.uk for consideration. We particularly welcome submissions from those currently underrepresented in the arts.  Please tell us a little bit about yourself and the work. It doesn’t need to be a completed script, it can be an early draft or even an extract. There is no fee for entering your piece and this is a rolling submission.

Deadline: rolling
