This week’s pick: ‘Introduce Yourself’ initiative at the Finborough Theatre
Description: To ensure their work remains accessible to all, accompanying this year’s Vibrant Festival is a new initiative from the Finborough Theatre Literary Team – Introduce Yourself. They pride themselves on accepting full length scripts all year round, but during Vibrant, they’ll be relaxing usual submission rules to make themselves even more accessible to new writers. During the Introduce yourself submission window, feedback will be given on every play they receive (only available to new writers from the UK who have never previously submitted to the Finborough). Submissions will be accepting during the dates of the Vibrant Festival from Sunday 25 October to Thursday 12 November 2015.
So, what’s so great about it? Did someone say the F-word? Feedback, that is?! We all know how difficult it can be to get feedback on our work – particularly from a well respected new writing theatre such as the Finborough. So, we’d say the fact that someone will actually read your play AND give you notes (albeit, possibly only a paragraph) is a pretty good reason to snap up this opportunity. They’re accepting short plays or 20 minutes from a full length script and there are no restrictions on style or genre.
