Opportunities: Our Pick of the Week – Pint-sized seeking short plays for evening of new writing

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Pint-sized seeking short plays for evening of new writing

Description: Following the success of their show in May, Pint-Sized are seeking 10-15 plays for an evening of new writing at the Jermyn Street Theatre. Plays can be stand-alone pieces or excerpts from longer pieces of any genre.  They would prefer plays with minimal set and tech requirements.

So, what’s so great about it? Well, we know this year has been all about polishing up those plays to submit to the big guns such as the Verity Bargate and the Bruntwood Award. So, after all that hard work, wouldn’t it be nice to get the chance to see your writing up on stage? And at the lovely off west end venue, The Jermyn Street Theatre, no less? You could write a completely new 10-15 minute play to submit or send in an excerpt from that shiny new play you’ve just written – either way, you’ve got a couple of weeks until the deadline (23rd July) to pull something together.
