Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Actor Awareness accepting submissions for new writing night from over 30’s
Description: For their next event, Actor Awareness is seeking short plays for their ‘intergenerational night’. They are accepting work from writers who are over 30 and plays must contain at least one character who is 40+. The event will take place in partnership with Spotlight in their West End studios and will also be paid.
What’s so great about it? We often feature opportunities aimed at younger writers but it’s rare we find one targeted at writers who are over 30, so we couldn’t miss flagging this up! Actor Awareness already has a great track record for their events and their recent LGBTQ+ Night was a huge success. They are partnered with Spotlight and the 4 selected writers will have their work performed in their West End Studios and get paid. If you’re over 30, this one really does tick all the boxes, so get writing! You’ve got until the 15 July 2018 to submit your 15 minute plays.
