Opportunities – Pick of the Week: Actor Awareness seeks scratch night shorts on race, religion, culture (paid opportunity)

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Actor Awareness seeks scratch night shorts on race, religion, culture (paid opportunity)

Description: Actor Awareness is seeking submissions for a new scratch night on the themes of  race, religion or culture. This is a paid opportunity as part of the Actor Awareness partnership with Spotlight and will take place in their studios in the West End. They are looking for four 15 minute plays written for no more than 3 actors.

What’s so great about it? We think this opportunity ticks all the boxes for emerging writers: a West End performance, great networking opportunities and the chance to write about provocative and relevant issues. Not to mention the fact that you’ll be paid for your work. Enough said! If you can come up with something great by 14 May, you’ll be in with a chance – so, what are you waiting for?
