Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: BBC Writersroom Comedy Script Room 2018
Description: The BBC is reopening its submission window, this time focusing on comedy. You can submit a script written for any performance medium (film, TV, stage, radio, online), and can select 10 pages from anywhere in the script to nominate for the BBC to look at during their first pass. (Just remember to leave yourself enough time to setup and use their online submission service.)
What’s so great about it? So many playwrights are now crossing into TV, and if you have an interest in making work for the screen, this is a great opportunity to get your work seen. This opens the door to building a relationship with the BBC and being considered for forthcoming development opportunities, so if you’re a funny person with a distinctive voice, polish up that script and be sure to get it in before the 16 April deadline!
Please note, we’ve posted this for your convenience and we’re not affiliated with the organisers of the opportunity.
