Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Brainchild Hatch #6
Description: Brainchild’s ‘Hatch’ evenings provide artists working across the fields of theatre, poetry, comedy and experimental performance with opportunities to share work in progress. They feature six pieces of 10-15 minutes run time in a supportive environment that encourages risk-taking and collaboration.
What’s so great about it? Having the opportunity to test work in front of an audience is worth its weight in gold to a playwright. The combination of different art forms coming together promises an audience that might be slightly different that the theatre-only crowd that normally attends a scratch night, and a great way to be meet and be inspired by artists making work in other forms. The deadline for this one is coming up fast, so make sure to get your submission in by Monday 12 Feb at 10am if you’d like to be considered.
