I Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Opportunities – Pick of the Week: Submissions open for The Director’s Club showcase ‘Nothing to Declare’
Description: Submissions are now open for The Director’s Club showcase ‘Nothing to Declare’ on 11 June at Southwark Playhouse. They are asking writers to write 5-7 minute plays which respond to a detailed brief outlined on their website.
What’s so great about it? We love something a bit different at LPB, and if you’re looking for something to give you a welcome break from polishing up those full length plays for this year’s big competitions, this one promises to get those creative juices flowing again! The Director’s Club are asking writers to respond to a detailed and intriguing brief, which is outlined on their website, here’s a little taster of how it starts:
“She is a free spirit. Constantly moving, from one European country to the next. Embracing culture and people from all walks of life. She likes change, adventure, risk and discoveries…and she chooses when and what she gives away. Once you encounter her your life will never be the same again. Are you ready?A moment with her is all you have. And then, she is gone.”
If you like the sound of it, you’ve got until 6pm on 19th May to write a stand out 5-7 minute piece. Go!
