Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick:The Space call out for submissions & script readers for Scriptspace 2018
Description: ScriptSpace, the Space’s feedback/development platform for new writing is back for 2018. The aim of ScriptSpace is to give writers the opportunity to hear their early drafts read aloud by professional actors. The readings are open to the public, and are followed by a supportive feedback/Q & A session. Last year 10 playwrights received play readings and everyone who submitted received written feedback.
What’s so great about it? This sort of opportunity doesn’t come up very often – the chance to have a public reading of an early draft rather than a finished piece; so we reckon this is the perfect chance to get that ever valuable feedback on a piece of work in development. What’s more, they are aiming to provide written feedback for everyone who applies, so you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot – you have until 2nd April to get those scripts in and they’re looking for early drafts of full length or one act plays. If you don’t feel like submitting this time, you can always offer your service as a volunteer script reader, just drop them an email!
