Oxford Playhouse is relaunching its Playhouse Playmaker scheme in 2024, and recruitment is now open. Playhouse Playmaker is their writers’ attachment scheme for playwrights, led by award-winning playwright Clare Bayley.
Their scheme supports up to six emerging playwrights each year to write a full-length play, through a rewarding programme of workshops, dramaturgy and mentoring.
Entry criteria:
Playhouse Playmaker is suitable for playwrights at any stage of their career, who have already completed at least one full play. Writers will benefit most from the scheme if they have had their work performed at least once.
The scheme is not suitable for beginners. Applicants must be aged 21+.
Applicants will need to submit 1x 20-page extract of a play, and 1x full-length play. They should also complete the online Application Form at: https://www.oxfordplayhouse.com/artists/playhouse-playmaker
Deadline for applications is Friday 6 October, 12noon.
This is a free opportunity for selected playwrights, and is also unpaid. A travel bursary is offered to all selected playwrights.
