Parallel Praxis Cross-Disciplinary Artist Discussion Group

Parallel Praxis is a Cross – Disciplinary Artist Discussion Group.

Parallel Praxis seeks to support and develop process and individual practice, to provide a wider network, and promote collaboration.

As an artist, practice can be quite an isolating endeavour, this project is reaching out for artists who identify as  “emerging artist”, who have a practice, and are not currently in education.  An art education is not a requirement! (The organiser is a composer.)

The group so far includes: fine artists, composers, publisher, coder, dancers, performers, glass artist, and writers.

They are looking to invite a further 7 artists.

The organiser of the group is Lola de la Mata. She is a London based artist, musician and composer whose practice focuses around the body, collaboration and listening.

Future plans / funding: Once the project is under way, the organiser will be applying for funding to pay those of us who would like to run community workshops.

The funding will also go towards a publication of the group’s research projects, a residency, and an exhibition.

Meetings will be once a month (Sundays only), in North West London.

The first meeting is on Sunday 25th February

How to apply: If you would like a copy of the group manifesto, please email her with a bit about why you would like to be part of this group and with a link to your website at: parallel.praxis@gmail.com

Your email subject line should be “Parallel Praxis”.
