Portsmouth Road Productions are running a series of theatre workshops with some of the most exciting artists in the industry across different disciplines, one of them being a writing focused one with Jessica Norman. Each workshop in the series will have bursary places (1 in 3 participants will be a free place).
For those wanting to apply for a bursary please email pathways@ portsmouthroadproductions.com with either a written cover letter (no more than 1 side of A4), a voice note or video (both no longer than 5 minutes) telling us about yourself and why this workshop would be important in developing your skills and career. The deadline to apply for a bursary is Wednesday 3rd August at 5pm.
This workshop will be perfect for those early career writers in terms of developing their craft and getting advice on how to get your work seen by companies and venues.
The Workshop:
For one day only join Jessica Norman for a workshop focused on building your career as an emerging playwright. Develop your skills with a range of exercises to help stretch those writing muscles, looking at where to start with an idea, structure, writing dramatic action and effective dialogue between characters.
There will also be advice on how to develop your work, where you should be looking to submit it to, whether that be companies or venues, and how to get noticed in an ever competitive part of the theatre industry.
