Royale Productions seeking musical theatre scripts

Royale Productions is a brand new production company looking for a young, fresh and innovative musical theatre script to develop and produce.
“Our initial project will be arts council funded and will be produced to the highest level possible, allowing your work to be showcased to audiences and industry professionals alike.
Our production company’s ethos is to showcase the best of young, emerging musical theatre talent from book and score writers through to the cast and creative team. We aim for each project to be an outstanding platform for individuals involved to launch their professional careers from. Each production will be meticulously planned with a venue carefully chosen to suit the style of work. A guerrilla marketing plan will be implemented for the production in order to gain as much public and media attention as possible. We really want to highlight the quality of theatre that can be produced outside of major scale West End productions.
We are looking for a script that would suit a West End or Broadway style but still pushes the boundaries of musical theatre to be fresh and innovative. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated writer or writing team who are happy to take part in the creative decisions of the production but are also excited by the opportunity for potential directors, choreographers and musical directors to bring their project to life and incorporate their own creative ideas into the work.
We encourage submissions from new or experienced writers who feel they are at the stage for their work to be produced by a professional cast and creative team.  We are happy for completed or part completed projects to be submitted for consideration but the successful musical must have a completed draft of the entire work ready by September 30th 2017 in order to adhere to our proposed timeline.”
What to submit: please submit the following for the producers to consider:
  • Short biography of the writer or writing team detailing previous study, experience and experience of their work being produced
  • Plot summary of proposed works
  • Script excerpts of at least two scenes
  • Scores for at least two contrasting songs
“Please feel free to submit any additional material you have available for consideration (eg. recordings). Please note we are more interested in innovate and exciting ideas even if they are still being written and worked on rather than completed works that are not as exciting!”
This is a paid opportunity with no entry fee required.
How to apply: please submit completed applications or any queries to michael@royaleproductions.co.uk
Deadline: 31 July 2017
