Shred Productions is looking for an exceptional writer to work on a brand new site-specific commission, which will headline the Theatre Exterior programme at Chorlton Arts Festival 2015.
Now in its 15th year, the festival continues to act as a conduit for the best emerging talent in the region to appear alongside established artists from around the world. As a result, it has become one of the most acclaimed multi-arts events in the UK, attracting audiences of around 15,000 in 2014.
The award-winning company behind Sherica (2012 Manchester Theatre Award Winner) and South (The Lowry, 2013) has teamed up with Chorlton Arts Festival to bring this innovative live performance event to Manchester with the support of Arts Council England.
Transforming an everyday location into a dynamic moving theatre space, this production will explore how we journey through and get to know a city and the importance of making strong connections with the people who live alongside us. Bringing vivid performance and ambitious storytelling to a truly unexpected venue, this unique theatre event will celebrate the city and ask what it means to live in Manchester in 2015.
We need a writer to work with us to devise a concept, produce a rehearsal-ready script and collaborate with the creative team to bring this unique production to life.
