The Customs House Youth Theatre wish to commission a new or emerging writer to work collaboratively with our young people create a script for the Junior Youth Theatre to be performed in March 2016 in the Main House at The Customs House, South Shields.
We would like the script to be up to 40 minutes in length, and to have eight main parts and an ensemble.
The piece will use their current devised piece ‘If Words Weren’t Free’ as a starting point and to use these words as a stimulus to create an initial idea.
We would need the successful applicant to work with the group, and their facilitator for three sessions to gain a strong understanding of the piece, as well as the young actors themselves.
The script must be suitable for performers aged 10 to 14 years old.
The total fee is £650, which includes attendance at three sessions, five days of writing and half a day for rewrites.
