Trainee Junior Storyliner (EastEnders) – Deadline tomorrow!

The BBC is seeking a Trainee Junior Storyliner for EastEnders.

With over 350 hours of in-house output a year, BBC Drama Production is making some of the most original, diverse and highly acclaimed television. These range from continuing drama such as EastEnders, Holby City, Casualty and Doctors, to series and serials such as Silent Witness, Luther and Musketeers to name just a few.

EastEnders is the multi award winning soap broadcast four times a week on BBC ONE.  It currently ranks as one of the most watched TV dramas in the UK tackling many controversial and taboo issues previously unseen on television in the UK. Through great storylines and attention to detail the show manages to successfully balance gritty realism with high drama and entertainment to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, every week.

Role responsibility:  Under the leadership of the Story Producer the number one aim of the role is to deliver high quality, high profile, cost-effective drama. You will generate and create story ideas and storylines of the highest standard, consistent with EastEnders, under guidance and with instruction from the Story Producer and Story Editor. You’ll also support and assist the Storyliners, Story Team Assistant and Research team in order to develop the skills and knowledge to be a valued member of the EastEnders editorial team.

The ideal candidate:  The successful candidate will need to importantly display a passion for EastEnders, a proven flare for writing, experience of working to tight deadlines and as part of a team. No formal television experience is necessary but enthusiasm and a desire to learn is essential.
