The Creative Future Writers’ Award, New Writing South and Preston Park Recovery Centre are pleased to offer a unique development opportunity for a talented, emerging/mid-career under-represented writer who is interested in working with vulnerable adults and/or in non-traditional spaces. It offers time and space to write and support to develop your career.
The 2020 Writer In Residence will:
- Undertake a 10 day on-site residency at Preston Park Recovery Centre, an award-winning mental health recovery day centre in Brighton
- Produce one reflective blog post and one piece of creative writing in your genre, which will be published in the 2020 CFWA anthology
- Sit on the Creative Future Writers’ Award judging panel
- Attend the 2020 showcase event and read your work
They are ideally looking for a candidate who will also lead their CFWA Brighton workshops—24 workshops across three locations. The residency takes place between April-October 2020 and includes an honorarium of £5,000.
This residency is aimed at emerging/mid-career writers with a track record of publication/a professional writing career.
