Writing for the stage – Consenting Adults at Arcola Theatre (£95)

Writing for the Stage
Tuesdays 1 May – 12 June 2018 from 8pm-10pm
Arcola Theatre

Writing for the Stage will enable early-career playwrights to write a first draft of an original, one act play.

Over the course of the 6-week program, each workshop will hone in on a different playwriting technique, from crafting dialogue and constructing characters through to structuring your playand experimenting with dramatic form. Each 2-hour workshop will involve a combination of practical exercises, lively discussion and play readings. In the final week, writers have the option of submitting a first-draft of their play and receiving tailored feedback on it, and/or hearing an extract of their work read or performed within the group.

No previous experience of writing for theatre is required; all you need is an interest in playwriting and an appetite for seeing your words brought to life through live performance.

This workshop is led by playwright and dramaturg Lee Anderson.

Schedule:  Tuesday 1st May – Tuesday 12 June 8pm-10pm
*There will be no workshop on Tuesday 8th May. Instead, the final workshop will take place on Tuesday 12th June to allow for 6 sessions in total.

Price:  £95
