Writing West Midlands have vacancies for workshop leaders and assistants for their Spark Young Writers project. The vacancies span across the region, including Birmingham, Worcester, Evesham, Coventry and Stoke on Trent
Writing West Midlands runs the largest programme of creative writing activities for young people in the country.
They have two roles available:
Creative Writing Workshop Leader:
They are looking for established writers to help inspire the next generation of creative writers. You will lead one of their Spark Young Writers groups for 10 monthly sessions (2 hours per session), with the help of a volunteer Assistant Writer. Their groups are limited to 15 participants in libraries, museums and art galleries around the West Midlands. Their groups are for young people between the ages of 7 – 11, 10 – 15 and 12 – 17.
Fee: £105 per session, plus reasonable travel expenses.
Creative Writing Workshop Assistant:
They are looking for emerging writers to help inspire the next generation of creative writers. You will help lead one of their Spark Young Writers groups for 10 monthly sessions (2 hours per session), under the guidance of a professional writer.
Fee: This post is unpaid but they will pay reasonable travel expenses

Interview dates: 10th and 11th May.
Compulsory training session: Saturday 21st July.
