The Hardy is opening up submissions for a short play night, taking place at Kemble House, a rehearsal and performance space in Forest Hill, over the evenings of the 16th and 17th December.
What to submit: They are looking for writers to submit their short plays, of around ten minutes in length, offering an exciting opportunity to form part of our festive celebrations and present them to a live audience.
They are particularly interested in plays that touch upon the following themes:
Winter Solstice
Winter folklore
Christmas
Winter celebrations
Changing of seasons
Longest night of the year
Marking one year in to the next
Journey of the spirit from one world to next
Magic of birth, death and rebirth
Festival of light
What you get: Each writer will be invited to collaborate alongside a director to bring together a team of actors for their play.
Each play will receive a minimum of six hours rehearsal, taking place at Kemble House, Forest Hill.
Each play will be presented as part of an evening of short plays, to celebrate the festive season. These evenings will start with four selected plays and finish with live music and festive celebrations.
How to apply: Please send your short play to info@thehardy.co.uk.
