Join a sharing and learning event for theatre makers and organisations seeking to work with and for deaf & disabled artists and audiences, as Leeds Playhouse and Sheffield Theatres mark seven years of membership in the Ramps on the Moon consortium. The event will feature ideas, information and practical tips to inspire your practice and improve your creative access.
Sessions available will include practical workshops, panels on The Deaf Perspective and integrated BSL, The Blind Perspective and audio description, working with Learning Disabled Actors, making work accessible on a smaller scale, and lots of practical tips for creative access solutions.
All attendees will have the option to attend the 7:30pm showing post-show discussion of Much Ado About Nothing (a Ramps on the Moon and Sheffield Theatres co-production) and all attendees will receive a code to book discounted tickets for Much Ado About Nothing for any performance of the run at Leeds Playhouse or Sheffield Crucible.
This event will take place in rooms around the building. The event will start at 12pm, when they will provide lunch. There will then be keynote speeches and an opening session. Following the first session, you’ll have a break, then you will have a choice of three sessions to attend. After another break, there will be another choice of three sessions. Finally, you will have the option to stay on and watch the 7.30pm performance of Much Ado About Nothing followed by a post-show discussion.
