Write a movie in ten weeks flat with the The Screen Arts Institute Knock it Out course on Monday evenings 7-10pm at the BFI Southbank, London, from 8 May-10 July 2017.
The SAI says the story development & speed writing course is
inspired by “whatever music does it for you; Stormzy, Jamie XX, Gabriel Yared, Allan Rayman, Raleigh Ritchie, Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, Sigur Ros… whatever works. Screen stories are fed by one great drug…. music.
The sessions will be run by the director of the Screen Arts Institute, Stephen May, with contributions from other SAI mentors and alums.
What you get:
- Example session: 1 hour “scales & arpeggios” structure work, 30 min speed writing to music (or silence),1 hour follow-up workshop,15 min – “rave” writing, 15 min cool down.

small-group (max 3 filmmakers) mentor feedback three times during the programme and at the conclusion.
Fees: The programme costs £1,496. Fees are paid by direct debit over 3 months (+ £374 deposit in advance)
