Etch seeking submissions for Scratch Night #5 at Peckham Pelican

Etch is collecting submissions for its fifth new writing scratch night at The Peckham Pelican.

Etch aims to discover, nurture and support new writing in theatre whilst encouraging collaboration amongst emerging artists. We hope to provide a base and platform for development, collaboration and discussion whilst creating a fluid community of artists in need of an outlet. Etch will be sharing work at a grass roots level, hoping to include curious audiences in the process of creating theatre.

Since launching in August 2014, Etch has worked with over 100 emerging artists in theatre, showcasing over 20 new pieces of work and bringing three writers debut plays to London theatres. Their first co-production ‘Cans’ at Theatre 503 by Stuart Slade received 11 four star reviews and two Off West End nominations for ‘best new play’ and ‘most promising new playwright’. In January of this year Etch staged Paul Roberts Debut play, Pink Confetti at The Courtyard Theatre Hoxton.

How to apply:  Please send 5-15 minute extracts of new work from plays still in development to submissions@etchtheatre.com.

Deadline:  Friday 13 February 2015 at 6pm
