IdeasTap running a session on ‘how to write a screenplay’ with Jon Barton

IdeasTap are running a session on screenwriting this September in London.

This session is an introduction to screenwriting. Jon will dip into the basics of:

  • Why Write for Screen?
  • What is a Screenplay?
  • How to Structure your Screenplay
  • How to Write Genre
  • Overview of the UK Film Industry
  • How to Apply for Funding

There will also be the chance for questions and discussion.

Jon Barton:Jon is represented by Matt Connell at Berlin Associates.His work includes: 24 Hour Plays (Old Vic Theatre), Surface to Air (Arcola), Rules of the Game (HighTide), the comfort zone (Theatre503), Forget Dinner (Old Red Lion), Powerplay (White Bear), Derelict (Southwark Playhouse), The Corner Fence (Charing Cross Theatre), and Spot the Difference (Albany).

He is supported by Peggy Ramsay Foundation, Ideastap Creative Space and The Kevin Spacey Foundation. He was shortlisted for the Papatango New Writing Prize 2013, Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award 2013 and took part in the Kudos / Bush Initiative 2013.
