The Young Harts Writing Festival is an exciting opportunity that will see five young writers go head to head with five professional writers in a two- night festival on the 8-9th April 2016 at the Lyric Hammersmith!
All ten plays will be performed in the Lyric’s refurbished Studio space!
All ten plays will be directed by Roy Alexander Weise (Royal Court Theatre Trainee Diretor) and produced by Ann Akin (Harts Theatre).
The writing competition
Young writers, aged 10 – 25, are invited to send in 10-minute plays on the theme of ‘Power’.
‘Power’ can be interpreted in a myriad of ways, so the final pieces promise to be a varied portrait on what ‘power’ represents to different people at different stages of life.
The exciting line up of writers our aspiring scribes will be pitted against are:
Arinze Kene, Isley Lynn Soho alumni Luke Barnes, Phoebe Eclair- Powell and Somalia Seaton.
Five winning young writers will be announced on the 26th February and then receive a FREE writing masterclass with Rikki Beadle Blair.
Each young writer will be appointed one of these professional writers as a mentor.
Submissions now open! info@hartstheatrecompany.co.uk
Deadline: 19 February 2016
All young writers must be available on the 12th March 2016.
