Meet the Playwrights
Monday 12th June, 8-10pm
St Alban’s Centre, 18 Brooke Street, London EC1N 7RD.

A panel event with the playwrights Bryony Lavery, Ali Taylor and Charlene James.

The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) has brought together a panel of outstanding playwrights, each at different stages of their career to talk about the business and processes involved in the world of playwriting.

The panel will discuss:

  • How to establish and maintain a career as a playwright
  • Whether different labels given to playwrights e.g. ‘emerging’, ‘mid-career’, ‘established’ help or hinder
  • Changes and developments in the theatre industry
  • The joys and challenges of writing for theatre

Poppy Corbett, a playwright and WGGB member will chair the event.

The discussion will close with an audience Q&A. There will be time for networking drinks afterwards.

Please arrive to be seated by 7.45pm.

What you pay:  Tickets are free to members of the WGGB, and for non-members cost £10/£5 concessions, plus a small Eventbrite ticket-handling fee.

How to book:  Bookings can be made via the Eventbrite page.
