Meet the Playwrights

A panel event with the playwrights Bryony Lavery, Ali Taylor and Charlene James.
The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) has brought together a panel of outstanding playwrights, each at different stages of their career to talk about the business and processes involved in the world of playwriting.
The panel will discuss:
- How to establish and maintain a career as a playwright
- Whether different labels given to playwrights e.g. ‘emerging’, ‘mid-career’, ‘established’ help or hinder
- Changes and developments in the theatre industry
- The joys and challenges of writing for theatre
Poppy Corbett, a playwright and WGGB member will chair the event.
The discussion will close with an audience Q&A. There will be time for networking drinks afterwards.
Please arrive to be seated by 7.45pm.
What you pay: Tickets are free to members of the WGGB, and for non-members cost £10/£5 concessions, plus a small Eventbrite ticket-handling fee.
