MOTHER ACT – a new collective for mothers who act – have launched their first film festival of films made by mothers. The event will take place on 13th November 2026 at BFI Stephen Street. Applications are free and open to mothers, and those on conception journeys, who have written, directed or produced short films. The films do not have to be about motherhood – any subject matter is welcome!
All films submitted must have been made after 1st January 2024
Please send your film to motheractuk@gmail.com with any information you’d like to share about your experience of writing the film whilst being a parent, any relevant requirements you felt you needed in creating the film, and a brief description about what prompted you to make it.
