Opportunities: Our Pick of the Week – Stitchin’ Fiction: One Year Anniversary – accepting submissions for scratch night

Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.

This week’s pick: Stitchin’ Fiction: One Year Anniversary – accepting submissions for scratch night

Description: Stitchin’ Fiction at the Boogaloo is a scratch night with a difference where writers and performers are challenged to cast and direct a performance all in one night. Stitchin’ Fiction is a rehearsed reading performance where creatives are invited to come and stretch their theatre muscles in an informal workshop setting.

So, what’s so great about it? We think this one sounds like a fun and challenging way to share your work, get feedback and network with a whole bunch of creatives! It has been running successfully for a year now so at least you’ll know you’ll be entering your work in to something already well established. They’re asking for writers to send them a note of interest from which they will select successful participants, so this could be a great way to test out some new ideas or get some feedback on something you’ve been working on for a while. The deadline for expressions of interest is 16 October 2015 ready for the performance night on 26 October 2015.
