Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: First London Pub Theatre Festival offers 30 minute showcases
Description: The first London Pub Theatre Festival will take place in April 2017, and will be offering emerging theatre companies to stage 30 minutes of their work (3 performers maximum).
So, what’s so great about it? If you’ve been thinking about getting your feet wet with producing your own work, this is a great place to start! You’ll need to apply with a focused idea and a theatre company / creative team, but you’ll benefit from the festival’s exposure, and will have support in taking the next step in your writing career. This is a great chance to test drive a new idea or start building your producing skillset – without needing the kind of cash required for a full run. The submission deadline is 31 December, so time to get to work on that application if you want to go for it!
