Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: Itch + Scratch theatre seeking shorts on theme of ‘Great’ Britain
Description: Itch + Scratch theatre are currently accepting submissions on the theme of ‘Great’ Britain for their upcoming shows at Hackney Showroom.
They are seeking plays that include themes such as nationalism, changes in the UK, regional differences and being British.
Submissions are being accepted from UK-based writers only, and should be 10-15 minutes in length.
What’s so great about it? Whether you’re an emerging writer seeking to get your work produced, or a more established writer with something to say about the topical theme at hand, this is a great opportunity to explore the current issues of ‘Great’ Britain.
With the scratch night taking place at Hackney Showroom, you can have your say and see in on stage in one of London’s most prestigious venues.
You’ll get to work with the Itch and Scratch team to curate an evening of new work all on the themes you choose to write about.
