Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: LPW Playwrights Mentoring Scheme
Description: As part of our 2021 submissions window we’re super excited to announce our brand new mentoring scheme! selected writers will be assigned a mentor who will offer them dramaturgical support to help them to develop their script. They will also be invited to exclusive developmental workshops and to participate in group work, culminating in readings of the plays.
Why is it so great? Us again plugging our stuff! But we’re absolutely thrilled about this brand new opportunity we’ve got coming up and therefore, we had to select it as our Pick of the Week! Hopefully you’ve already seen news of our submission window being open – we’ve purposely decided not to fully define the outcome of the window until we’ve read all the plays, since we want to get a sense of what might be most beneficial to writers who submit. That said, we’re certain we’ll find some exciting new writers who would benefit from a longer period of mentoring with the view to learning more about their craft and developing their piece for a reading. With that in mind, we’ll be offering a small number of writers a place on our mentoring scheme, where they’ll receive one-to-one support, group workshops, and industry advice. To apply, you just need to send us a play via our submission window by 14th April!
