Each week we look through our pile of writing opportunities to pick out one we think is particularly worth your time. It could be an innovative brief, great prize money, a high-profile company, or just plain fun.
This week’s pick: See your script filmed: Birmingham School of Acting seeks shorts
Description: The Birmingham School of Acting trains actors for a professional career. They are looking for short film scripts to be produced to professional standards and presented at their Short Film Season in early 2018 with students from the School of Acting in the cast. Each successful writer will see their work produced and receive a copy of the film. It will also be made available to watch on the school’s website.
What’s so great about it? We like to give you a bit of variety with our Pick of the Week and this is one for the budding film writers amongst you. It’s not very often you get a real chance to have your script produced – and we think that’s a pretty valuable experience for a scriptwriter. They’re only look for short films of around 6-7 minutes for around 4 actors (they’re mainly looking for characters in their early twenties, since that’s the main demographic of the acting students – so that’s something to bear in mind!) – so why not give it a go? You’ve got until 28th February to get your script in! Good luck!
