Description: Tamasha Developing Artists (TDA) is soliciting applications for the third year of its Tamasha Playwrights group.Tamasha Playwrights is a writer-led collective founded in October 2014 by Tamasha’s Artistic Director Fin Kennedy and formed of eight playwrights from a diverse range of backgrounds, The aim of the Tamasha Playwrights is to offer long-term career development in a supportive environment to 8 emerging playwrights per year from culturally diverse backgrounds.
What’s so great about it? This is a great opportunity for writers to get some hands on playwriting experience and to develop their careers with advice from the experts. The programme aims to train playwrights as producers, fundraisers, workshop leaders and project managers, as well as offering craft-based session on playwriting itself. Throughout the programme, there are regular opportunities to have your work showcased to industry professionals and to get advice from some of the top new writing theatres (past speakers include representatives from the National Theatre, Soho Theatre, Tricycle Theatre and the Royal Court). Sounds good to us! To apply, you’ll need to send in a full length play and a copy of your CV and you’ve still got a couple of weeks until the deadline, which is 26th September.
